Little man turns one

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to be able to attend our nephew’s first birthday party. We got in late Friday night and left Sunday evening. While it was a quick trip, we had a lot of fun. Saturday I spent the day with my mother in law and sisters in law shopping for a wedding gown for Noah’s twin’s wedding. We went to two places and she ended up choosing a beautiful Paloma Blanca dress that she had tried on early in the day. Saturday was spent hanging out with family.

Sunday was the day of the party. The birthday boy was up early and in a very good mood. I think he knew that this day was all about him!

The main reason why I wanted to do this post was to show off these awesome cupcakes, birthday cake and smash cake. They are all homemade (from scratch) by my sister in law’s mother in law. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, she did an amazing job. They tasted delicious too!

Bowl of dog food smash cake – he loved it!

I hope everyone had a great last weekend before Christmas. We haven’t even started our shopping and I’m not too stressed about it either. I know it will get done, even if it means bickering in the car about turning into the wrong entrance at the mall and shoving through slow walkers in Tysons Corner.
