I don’t even know how to begin writing this post. I guess I’ll start with Margaret’s story. Margaret is the daughter of Anna from the blog An Inch of Gray. Last month, Anna’s son Jack was horrifically killed in the outrageous floods that we experienced here in Virginia. He was only 12 years old.
I found out about Anna’s blog and now I can’t stop reading as she shares her grief post by post. Her strength and courage truly amaze me. One day, she wrote a post detailing the grocery list that her daughter Margaret had written out the night before. She not only wrote down things that she wanted from the grocery store, but also things that she wanted in general. Along with apple sauce and cheerios, Margaret also wrote out her brother Jack and a private concert from Justin Bieber. Since getting her brother back isn’t possible, they’re hoping that her wish for a private concert from Justin might be.
After Anna wrote this post, asking her readers to do all in their power to make Margaret’s wish come true, the Universe started working its wonders. Readers were contacting The Ellen Show, Anderson Cooper, The Today Show, NBC4, their friends, their family, and anyone else they thought could make this dream a reality. Then Anna’s sister had the brilliant idea of coming up with a Twitter account for the sole purpose of getting someone’s attention. And the tweets began. To Justin, Justin’s mom, his manager, Ellen, Anderson, and many more. We are all hoping that if we talk about it enough and tell enough people that it can come true. I hope you can help me with this! If you have a twitter account, please start following @JBLiftMargaret. Once you follow her you can see some of the things that have been tweeted and you will know who to send your tweets to. Even if you just write one tweet a day to @JustinBieber or @TheEllenShow with the hashtag #LiftMargaret or #tweetformargaret that could potentially help!! And if you happen to know of someone whose cousin’s best friend’s brother works with someone who knows Justin Bieber, please contact them.
It’s not going to be possible to make all of Margaret’s dreams come true, but maybe with the power of helpful and caring people we can deliver on one of them. And help bring a smile to her face.
